Today in the capital the Kazakhstan Basketball Cup 2018 among men's teams has started.
The tournament was set up by the game between the teams «Barsy Atyrau» and «Caspian» from Aktau, in which the club from Atyrau took the lead with a score of 84:65. In the second Cup game, «Astana» played with the Kostanay «Tobol». From the very first minutes the hosts took the initiative, and as a result, the first quarter ended with a difference of 16 points. With each period the score difference increased and by the third period rose beyond +35 points. The final period became only a formality, everyone understood perfectly well that Astana had already beaten hands down their opponents ahead of the game end. It ended with a score of 93:63 in favor of the capital's club.
Vadim Shcherbak became the most effective player of the match with 18 points, Alexander Zhigulin brought the team — 15 points, and Dmitry Gavrilov — 14 points.
Tomorrow, on March 6, in the frame of Cup of Kazakhstan, «Tobol» will play with «Barsy Atyrau», and «Caspian» will meet «Astana». Games will be held in the sports center «Nazarbayev University». The beginning of matches from 17.00 to 21.00. Free admission.
