In the season 2016/2017, Renatas Kurilionokis became a part of Ilias Papaterodoru's coaching staff and the in the season 2017/2018 he continued his work with Kostas Flevarakis and Mikhail Karpenko, and was appointed as the head coach of the National Team of Kazakhstan.
The young specialist will head the next training camp for Steppen Wolves — the men's National team in 10 days time, and now taking advantage of a small pause in the season, he is currently taking a rest at home in Lithuania.
Renatas gave a short comment to the club's Press service:
«I agreed to continue my work in the club after the proposal of Valeriy Alekseevich. Everything suits me perfect in Astana. For the two past years, I have thoroughly learned the VTB League, I have good relations with the office of PBC «Astana», I know all the players well, that's why I feel comfortable in the club. I am happy that I can continue to contribute to the development of the team. I have set some personal goals, I would like to develop and adopt the experience of my older comrades.
